Four ways to play a match.
Classic
The game as it was: its own map, its own rules.
Classic+
The same match with extras from your other games: a skateboard, a portal device, web-swinging, block building.
Remix
Any world with any game's rules and any character. Call of Duty in Los Santos, or Master Chief skating Hang 'Em High.
Hosted
Host a match from your PC and friends join it, with the same setup on every screen.
One engine underneath.
MASHBOX runs every world and every play style on our own engine. That is what lets a Skyrim fort take a Halo Warthog, or a skater drop into a Call of Duty match.
Everyone plays the same game
Movement, weapons and rules run in the engine, so every player in a match plays by the same rules.
Your games add the look
The worlds and characters come from the games installed on your PC. Nothing from any game ships with MASHBOX.
Built in, for everyone
Some play styles come with MASHBOX itself, such as skating, web-swinging and Halo-style play, so you can play them before you own the game.
Play together
Host a match and friends join it. One player can skate while another shoots, in the same world.
From download to playing.
One app does it all: it signs you in, installs the MASHBOX engine, finds your games and keeps everything up to date.
Install
One installer for Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.

Find your games
MASHBOX looks on every drive: Steam, Epic, Xbox, GOG and EA libraries, game folders and disc images. One question, once: do you own them?
Play
The app downloads the MASHBOX engine and keeps it current. Pick a game, a mode and a map (or mix your own), press Play, and the game opens straight into that match.
You decide what we build next.
Ask for a world, a gameplay or a character, and vote on everyone else's ideas. The team builds from the top of the board.

Questions.
What do I need to play?
A Windows PC and the games you want to mix, installed. MASHBOX builds each world from your own copy, so you need to own every game whose world, gameplay or character you use.
Can I download it today?
Yes: get the Windows app from the download page, sign in, and it installs the MASHBOX engine. It is early access, so expect rough edges.
What kind of PC does it need?
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and a recent graphics card (we test on a 4 GB laptop RTX 3050). A small installer, then about 1 GB to play: every play style comes with MASHBOX. Worlds from games you own are built on your PC from your own copy.
Does MASHBOX change my games?
No. It reads your installs to build your worlds and never writes into a game folder. Your saves stay where they are.
Is anything from the games uploaded or downloaded?
No. Nothing from any game ships with MASHBOX, and nothing from your games leaves your PC. Everything game-made is built locally from your own files.
Can I add two-factor authentication?
Yes, if you want it. On your account page, turn on two-factor authentication with any authenticator app. You get recovery codes to keep, in case you change phones.
Does it play online?
Multiplayer is in early access: host a match and friends join it, each with their own games. MASHBOX never connects to a game's own online servers.
Which games come next?
Players vote. See the queue or ask for one.
Your games, mashed.
Resident Evil 4 (2005)In MASHBOX, Resident Evil 4 is a game like the others: its village and castle are worlds, Leon is a character, and its over-the-shoulder aim is a way to play in any world.
What we add next.
Upvote the games you want to see as worlds, gameplays or characters. The one with the most votes is next in line, and you can change your mind any time.
We're lining up the next games now. Sign in, and you'll be able to vote the moment they appear.

MASHBOX for Windows
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. One app installs the MASHBOX engine, keeps it up to date and reads your own games.
After you install
- Sign in with Google, the same account as this site. Your account comes with you.
- On Play, press Install: the app downloads the MASHBOX engine and play styles, about 1 GB.
- MASHBOX lists the games it finds on your PC, in Steam's libraries and any folder you add. No game is needed to play: every play style comes with MASHBOX. Confirm you own a game once to play its worlds.
- Pick a world, a mode and play styles, and press Play. Switch play style, character and world with the D-pad while you play.
Engine updates download on their own while the app is open, only what changed. Signing out in the app or here signs that device out; your account stays as it is.
The first time you run the installer, Windows may say it protected your PC. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Ownership declaration
MASHBOX works only with game files already on your PC. By using MASHBOX you declare that you own each game you use with it, bought on Steam or on its original disc, and that its files on your PC, including any disc image, came from your own copy.
Two-factor authentication
OffOptional. After you sign in with Google, MASHBOX also asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Any authenticator app works: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Apple Passwords and others.
- Scan this QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the key by hand.
Your recovery codes. Each one works once, if you lose your phone. Save them somewhere safe now: we only show them this one time.
